Alexander Gordienko

Export Director / Celsa Group

Alexander Gordienko was born in Russia. He graduated in economics and management from N. Novgorod University. After his graduation, he worked in banking in Russia and the UK. In 1999, he joined Stemcor. In 2009, he began working at Celsa Group where he currently continues his career as an export director.

Murat Cebecioglu has a business degree from New York Institute of Technology. After his graduation, he worked at multinational companies like Gillette and Allied Domecq. Since 2007, he has worked for Turkish steelmaker ICDAS in different commercial roles. He has served as export manager at ICDAS since 2009.

Jens Björkman is the head of ferrous sales at the Stena Metal International, the sales arm of the Stena Metal Group of companies, board member at Irepas since 2015 and chair of the raw material committee. Björkman holds an MBA from Gothenburg School of Business and Law.

Dogan Baysal established the US subsidiary of SEBA in Houston, Texas, in 1982 and has been actively serving as president and CEO of the SEBA Group of Companies ever since. During this time, he pioneered the importation of various steel products, including rebar, structural bars, wire rope and HSS tubing, from Turkey. During the 1990s, he added imports of pipe and flat steel products from Turkey, Spain, Romania, South Korea, Venezuela, the Czech Republic and Poland. In the 2000s, he continued with China and Russia as one of the reliable sources for SEBA. Today, SEBA delivers steel products for the construction and energy industries coast to coast in the US from Miami to Los Angeles and New York to Houston, and also around the world. Before working at SEBA, he was regional marketing manager at Fugro McClelland (formerly Fugro Gulf, Inc.), today the largest geotechnical engineering service company in the world. He graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Bogazici University, Istanbul, in 1977 and with an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, in 1979. Mr. Baysal is currently a board member of the American Institute for International Steel (AIIS) and of IREPAS. He is active in the Houston community. He has served as chair of Houston Mayor's International Trade & Development Council. He is now honorary chairman of the Turkish American Association of Business (TAAB) and a board member of the American Turkish Association (ATA) in Houston.

Swedish-born Michael has been involved in the steel and scrap trading industry throughout his career, starting off with Stena Metal Trading in Sweden 1980. Michael has managed companies in Europe, the USA, South America and Asia and held multiple board memberships across the steel industry. In 1988, he became Managing Director of international steel trading company Novosteel SA before becoming the sole owner from 2000 until 2007. More recently, he was Managing Director and Executive Director for Nucor Trading SA. Michael served as Chief Executive of Liberty Steel USA from 2018 to 2020.
