He is also a Professor of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business, since 2003, where he has served as the Chairman of the Economics Department and a member of the Senate and the University Council. He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, and has been an Associate Professor at Duke University, USA and a visiting Professor at INSEAD, France and Singapore. He serves as Associate Editor of the International Journal of Industrial Organization, member of the Executive Committee of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics and is a Research Fellow at CEPR, UK and a Research Associate of the Hellenic Observatory at the London School of Economics. He has served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of the European Economic Association, of the Journal of Industrial Economics, a member of the Hellenic Competition Commission and of the Economic Advisory Group for Competition Policy at the European Commission (DG-Comp.). His expertise is primarily in the areas of microeconomics, industrial organization, regulation and competition policy and his research is published in leading international journals. He is a co-organizer of the annual ‘Conference for Research on Economic Theory and Econometrics’ since 2002 and a co-editor of Beyond Austerity: Reforming the Greek Economy, MIT Press 2017. Su Changyong graduated in English literature and mechanical engineering from Luoyang Institute of Technology, where he received his bachelor’s degree in engineering in 1993. He also has an MBA from the University of Science and Technology in Beijing. Mr. Su started his career at Shougang Central Design Insititute as a project coordinator in 1993. In 1997 he continued his career at China’s Ministry of Metallurgical Industry as foreign affairs officer at the Department of Foreign Affairs. In 1998 he became officer-in-charge at State Administration of Metallurgical Industry of China. Between 2000-2002 he served as director at the State Economic and Trade Commission of China. He gained further experience at US Steel China LLC between 2003-2005 as business development manager. In 2006, he became conference director at Metallurgical Council of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (MC-CCPIT). He has held many roles at MC-CCPIT and at the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA). Since 2015 he has been working as conference director and director for international cooperation at MC-CCPIT and CISA.
