The roots of Çolakoğlu’s commercial operations reach back to an iron & steel trade shop that Mehmet Rüştü Çolakoğlu founded in İstanbul’s Karaköy district in 1945. Çolakoğlu’s first rolling mill commenced operations in Sütlüce, also in İstanbul, in 1960. To address its need for billets, in 1968 Çolakoğlu established its first steel mill in Dilovası. Çolakoğlu Metalurji expanded its product line with the introduction of wire rod in 1985 and with the addition of ribbed rebar in 1990. With the steelworks and hot-rolled coil production investments that were initiated in 2005 and with the commissioning of its hot-rolling mill in 2010, Çolakoğlu Metalurji became one of the pioneer firms in Turkey’s iron & steel industry. Our mills are capable of producing an extensive lineup of HRC products ranging from thicknesses of 1.1 mm to 25.4 mm and from widths of 800 mm to 1,650 mm suitable for cold-forming at one end and to petroleum pipe on the other. During its first half-century of existence, Çolakoğlu Metalurji’s production consisted only of so-called “long products”–billets, rebar, wire rod, and ribbed coils. With the commissioning of its new investments in 2010, the company began shifting some of its production capacity away from long products and turning its attentions to flat products with higher added-value products suitable for manufacturing tubing & pipes, automotive components (including rims), agricultural tools, and machinery and construction equipment. The company has achieved significant progress especially in the homologation of its automotive components and wheel rims. Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association is a non-profit organization which was founded in 1996 in order to develop Turkish steel pipe industry, contribute to manufacturing of goods that national industry needs and strengthening members’ competitiveness in international markets. The Association now has 19 eminent members that account for 95 % of Turkey’s total steel pipe production.Members’ annual production capacities vary between 100.000 and 1.000.000 metric tons. EUROMETAL is the European federation of steel tubes and metals distribution and trading. The federation brings together and federates 18 European National Federations of Steel Distributors, along with individual distributors, service centers and steel trading companies.

Association of Turkish Coaster Owners and Operators (KOSDER) was established on January 21, 2014 in order to create a solidarity platform among the shipowners and operators of all types of Turkish-owned vessels, called coasters, which are used for various purposes, engaged in close sea transportation in national and international waters, and to contribute to the development of the Turkish coaster fleet. Since the day it became operational, our Association has received great favor from Turkish seafarers with its solution-oriented approach to the problems of both its member shipowners and operators and the general problems of the sector. With this favor, KOSDER has reached 155 members and approximately 550 vessels and has taken its place among the few maritime NGOs representing the coaster tonnage in the world.

Steel Exporters' Association is one of six associations which has been operating under the body of General Secretariat of Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB).
